whew...

my Hailey is home and doing so much better... thanks for all the good doggie vibes... I guess what happened was that her body couldn't handle the fat overload of people food that she ate over the holidays... so her stomach was over-producing enzymes and acid to compensate... only instead of digesting the fat... they started to EAT HER INSIDES...

the vet had her on a fast for 6 days (so no more acid/enzymes would be made) and had her hooked up to IVs to administer fluids and medicine...

it was a close one... but the meds seemed to have helped her...

now she's on a LOW FAT diet and is banned from too many treats and absolutely NO PEOPLE FOOD... ya hear that MY FAMILY...

I went over to see her last night and pretty much just laid on the floor next to her and pet her for an hour... she's the only dog (besides Toby) that I can go right up next to their faces and stay there without incident... I purred at her (she likes the sound) and she made her response noises... little throat purr/growls...

gawd I'm glad she's ok...

on another note... what the fuck is up with our lawsuit happy society... gah... Joy is being harassed by bogus threats when the people who are not welcome somewhere should take the hint and STOP going where they're NOT WELCOME... when you tell people "I'd be better to cut all ties with you" and then proceed to completely erase them from your life... um... STOP COMING AROUND SNOOPING FOR WHAT THEY'VE BEEN DOING WITH THEIR LIFE... seriously...

It's called moving on... and I know that the internets are a public domain… but still… with a situation like this… be an adult and know when to walk away… name calling on a personal website/blog is like writing in your trapper keeper “Miss X is a poopy pants”
